When my car gets older, when do I reduce coverage?
Blue Bell PA Insurance question:
Q: When my car gets older, when is the right time to consider reducing coverage on my vehicle?
A: Although each situation is different, once a car depreciates in value to a certain level, the owner may consider reducing physical damage coverage on the vehicle. The question is to what levelof depreciation is reducing coverage a smart move? Every vehicle depreciates at different rates, so the depreciated value of each vehicle helps an owner decide when may be the right time to reduce coverage. To find the estimated depreciated value of your vehicle, visit Kelley’s Blue Book and look under “used car trade-in” values for your particular vehicle.
Once you determine the estimated depreciated value of your vehicle, now you need to find out what the insurance costs are for just insuring the physical damage (collision and other than collision) of the vehicle. If you feel the premium for that part of the car’s coverage is too much to spend to insure the depreciated value of your vehicle, then it may be time to reduce or remove collision and/or other than collision (theft, vandalism, glass breakage, etc.) coverage. Consult with your insurance agent for more information.
Back to basics…
Blue Bell, PA Insurance:
When I rent a car do I need extra coverage?
Blue Bell PA insurance question:
Q; What extra insurance coverage do I need when I rent a car?
A: You may not need to purchase any extra coverage from the rental car company, as your current vehicle insurance policy may already cover you while driving the rental car. Each policy is different, so it’s important to review this coverage on your policy prior to getting to the rental car counter. If your policy coverage does transfer to cover you while driving the rental vehicle, the policy limits will apply, including collision and comprehensive deductibles. As an option, you may want to consider paying for the extra rental car company coverage if your personal coverage has a high deductible.

Best Rates in Blue Bell
Wolner Insurance has the BEST insurance rates in Blue Bell, PA. The combination of company reliability and “concierge-quality” customer service from our Blue Bell agency, separates us from other insurance agencies in Blue Bell.
Don’t be fooled by what some companies claim are “cheaper rates” for insurance policies. There is so much more to a long term relationship with your insurance agent that the prices on the policy. Expert consultation and company stability and reliability is what provides you with the “best rates.”
Insurance companies are rated by outside, independent, services based on insurance company reserves and each company’s ability to pay out for claims in the event of a catastrophe or other high incidence of claims. Standard and Poorer and AM Best are two services that rate insurance companies. Allstate is tops in both ratings! And Allstate is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
What’s the most efficient and least troublesome way to interact with your insurance company, through an agent, an outside broker, or directly without someone to help you? An agent has direct relationships inside the company with customer service and claims service representatives. These long-term relationships provide a level of service unequaled by any other way to deal with the insurance company. Having a broker contact the insurance company on your behalf may be helpful, but the broker doesn’t have the benefit of long-term inside relationships within the company, and this can cause hassles and delays. Not having any representation (direct contact) can cause even more significant problems.
With 20 years of experience, Wolner Insurance can provide “concierge-quality” customer service. Marty Wolner is available 7 days a week from 8:00am until 10:00pm in his office (he answers his own phone!), on his cell phone or via e-mail.
